Kate Davey Photography offers beautiful Cake Smashes in Caerphilly. A ‘Cake Smash & Splash’ is really popular way to celebrate your little ones milestone first birthday. Turing one is a big deal for both children and parents who have survived the first year! It is such a fun way to watch your child explore the different textures and taste of their special birthday cake. You are welcome to design your own theme based on what you child loves or you can use a pre set theme such as pink or blue. Whatever you decide your cake smash will provide memories that will last a life time.

HOW IT WORKS
A £45 deposit is taken to secure your shoot. Have a read of my frequently asked questions about what to bring and how to book a session.
No cake is included in the above packages, please let me know if you would like the names of some recommended cake makers or I can take the stress away by adding a cake for £35.
YOUR QUESTIONS
When should i book?
Cake smash sessions can be booked as early as you like. Some clients book after their newborn session, one year in advance! Usually schedule them a few weeks before their birthday, so I have time to make sure all the photos are ready for the special day.
How do I book a cake smash session?
When you are ready to book a cake smash session with me, please fill in the contact form at the bottom of this page. I will then contact you to discuss theme and avalible dates.
What theme can I have?
After booking we will discuss what theme you would like. Sometimes clients already have an idea they would like to create and other times they are happy to have a standard pink/blue. Whatever your preference I can work with you to create the perfect backdrop.
What kind of cake should I bring?
These sessions do not include a cake so I ask that you bring one along that fits in with your theme. As long as the cake has soft butter icing on the top so it is soft for your baby to touch that is fine. You are welcome to buy a shop bought one, arrange from a cake maker or even try making it your self. I am happy to provide the cake for £35.
What should I bring?
- A cake (colour linked into theme of the session)
- Outfit for portraits and one for the smash (can just wear trousers or skirt) / cute cap or head band/ birthday hat ect
- Towel for after the bath
- Wet wipes & swimming nappy for the tub
- Any milk/ water/ snacks your baby may need during the session.
- Any special props/toys you want in the photos bring them along.
